Creating UI for unique real time photo filters.

Goal

The client set the task to create an interface for the new iOS app that can apply filters to a camera view in real time.

Target Audience

Existing users of the Waterlogue app and attracting new users of all ages who love art and filters.

Research

I analyze the top apps from the category of graphics and filters made a map of best and worst UI concepts, that was used for app UI inspiration.

What I Did

Based on the research data, a prototype interface was developed in low fidelity and high fidelity form. In order for programmers to be able to implement an interface, guideline was prepared.

At the annual Worldwide Conference for Apple Developers WWDC 2019 — Philip W. Schiller — a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Apple introduced the best graphics apps, which included Olli:

The app has gained great popularity in Japan, creating a trend on Twitter “Olli by Tinrocket” . People from all over Japan post their illustrations and comics created through Olli's unique filters.

The annual design catalog UI Graphics 2 (Japan) has a dedicated chapter about the app.
