This privacy policy explains how the X Video Downloader Firefox extension handles information.

1. What the extension does

X Video Downloader adds a download button to video posts on X.com and Twitter.com. When you click the button, the extension resolves the selected public post's video metadata and downloads a direct MP4 video through Firefox.

2. Information transmitted

To perform a download, the extension may transmit the following information to X-owned services:

- The public post ID of the post whose download button you clicked.
- The public media metadata needed to locate the video's direct MP4 URL.
- The selected MP4 request URL and standard browser/network request information required to retrieve the video.

This transmission occurs only after you click the download button and only for the selected public post. The extension does not transmit your browsing history, private messages, passwords, cookies, account credentials, search queries, or unrelated page content.

3. Who receives the information

The post ID and media request are sent to X's public syndication or media services, including domains used by X such as x.com, twitter.com, cdn.syndication.twimg.com, and video.twimg.com. The download is then handled by Firefox's built-in Downloads API.

The developer does not operate a backend server that receives this information.

4. Collection, storage, and sharing

The developer does not collect or sell personal information. The extension does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, persistent identifiers, cookies, or third-party libraries. The extension does not maintain a remote database or user profile. Download results are handled by Firefox and are saved in the browser's configured download folder.

The extension does not intentionally retain the post ID, media metadata, or video URL after the requested operation finishes.

5. Account and private content

The extension does not require an X account and does not request X login credentials. It is intended for public posts. It does not bypass access controls, DRM, private posts, or protected media.

6. User control

No data transmission starts merely because the extension is installed or a page is viewed. You control transmission by choosing whether to click the download button. You can stop using or remove the extension at any time through Firefox's Add-ons Manager.

7. Security

The extension uses HTTPS connections to X services and relies on Firefox's standard networking and download security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the extension is designed to transmit only the information necessary to complete the user-requested download.

8. Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated at the policy URL and the effective date will be changed.
